Kinetico has been part of Costco's installation services since 2007. Costco members in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area work directly with Kinetico Quality Water of Greater Toronto, our dealership in Bolton, Ontario. We handle the water test, the recommendation, the installation and the ongoing service. Nothing is subcontracted.

Why chloramine reduction is in the base bundle
Toronto and much of the surrounding region treat municipal water with chloramine rather than chlorine alone. Chloramine is more stable in the distribution system, which is why it is used, and it is also harder to reduce at the tap.
Hardness varies too. Toronto averages roughly 121 mg/L, about 7 grains per gallon. Mississauga runs higher, in the range of 130 to 150 mg/L. Private wells in Caledon and rural Peel can exceed 15 grains per gallon and often carry iron or sulphur as well.
That is why the Chloramine Guard is part of the base ELITE bundle rather than an add-on, and why every installation starts with a free in-home water test. The right system depends on what is actually in your water.
How a water softener works
Hard water is softened through ion exchange. When hard water enters the softener's resin bed, the resin exchanges hardness ions, calcium and magnesium, for sodium ions. Softer water is then available throughout the house.
Once the resin bed reaches capacity, it needs to regenerate. Salt is used to clean the resin, and the softening process continues.
Kinetico twin-tank softeners are non-electric and demand-initiated. There are no timers, clocks or circuit boards. The system regenerates based on how much water your household has actually used, and it keeps working during a power outage. Counter-current regeneration means it uses less salt and less water per cycle than conventional co-current systems.
Certifications and warranty
Every component in the ELITE bundle is independently certified.
The prefilter is certified to NSF/ANSI 61. The Chloramine Guard is certified to NSF/ANSI 42 and CSA B483.1. The twin-tank softener is certified to NSF/ANSI 44 and CSA B483.1. The AquaKinetic® A200 is certified by the Water Quality Association against CSA B483.1 and NSF/ANSI 42 and 58.
The prefilter, Chloramine Guard and softener each carry a 10-year limited warranty. The AquaKinetic® A200 carries 7 years on parts and 2 years on the membrane. Installation carries a 1-year labour warranty.
Every Kinetico GTA technician is factory-trained and locally licensed. Service, installation and annual maintenance are handled by our own team out of Bolton.
